Water

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: “The best form of charity is giving someone water (to drink)”

-  Ahmad, An-Nasaa’i and Ibn Maajah

  • 80% of all illness in the developing world comes from water born diseases.
  • Over 1.5 billion people do not have access to clean, safe water.
  • 400 million with no access to safe water (1 in 5)

Death and diseases in the shape of Dirty Water are haunting residents in Pakistan. Thousands are dying and millions falling seriously sick everyday due to non-availability of clean water in over 80 percent areas of Pakistan, particularly in the rural areas.

Saving lives of those facing danger has become a great challenge. Immediate plans, measures and actions are needed to help those suffering. In the interest of humanity, we must help each other tackle this very important issue.

Did you know that on average, women in Africa and Asia have to walk 3.7 miles to collect water.  In many cases these women might be walking to collect water, which is dirty and unsafe to drink, but they have no other choice but to use whatever they have.

MAGR can help these needy people by distributing water pumps near their residence place and this way they can have access to lasting safe, clean water with little distance to walk.

Take part in MAGR’s water projects by sponsoring:

Medical Aid

270 million with no access to health services (1 in 7)

Health is generally recognized as one of the most important things we can have in life. It is a base to human happiness and welfare. It also makes an important contribution to economic progress, as healthy populations live longer, are more productive, and save more.

Approximately 1.2 billion people in the world live in extreme poverty, which creates a major issue on ill-health because it forces people to live in environments that make them sick, without decent shelter, clean water or adequate sanitation.

How we can help

MAGR strives to provide medical aid amongst those with poor health and to approach them according to their needs.

To full fill their needs, MAGR aims to:

  • Run medical camps in case of emergency relief from natural disasters and in poor and rural areas.
  • Distribute free medicines to the needy
  • Set up free health services i.e Hospitals
  • To provide other health services/programmes, such as vaccination and prevention of spread of killer diseases such as cholera and malaria.

Education

121 Million Children out of education worldwide

Education is one of the most fundamental needs in our lives. In today’s world, it is more important than ever to ensure children have access to a good quality education.

Children growing up in poverty and disadvantage are less likely to do well at school. This feeds into disadvantage in later life and in turn affects their children.

MAGR believes that everyone has a right to basic education. But in many parts of the world children, particularly girls, are denied access to this right. MAGR strives to address the root causes as to why children are out of school and to help them overcome these barriers to learning.

Statistics show that educated people have healthier families and greater earning potential. Bearing this in mind, MAGR particularly targets to improve girl’s access to education. Millions of women and girls living in the developing world do not have access to this basic right. By abolishing the obstacles to education we can help them prepare for a brighter future, training women to have the skills they need to build better lives for themselves, their families and communities.

MAGR aspires to provide education and training through, constructing and developing education centres/ schools, providing teacher training programmes, constructing mosques and madrasas for advancement of Islamic education.

Food packages

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: Among the best deeds are to feed the poor and the deserving and to greet those whom you know and those whom you do now know”

- Sahih Al-Bukhari

There are 925 million hungry people in the world-Poverty is the principal cause of hunger.

“One Person will die within the next 3.5 seconds due to hunger”

Poverty causes hunger. Not every poor person is hungry, but almost all hungry people are poor. Millions live with hunger and malnourishment because they simply cannot afford to buy enough food, cannot afford nutritious foods or cannot afford the farming supplies they need to grow enough good food of their own. Hunger can be viewed as a dimension of extreme poverty. It is often called the most severe and critical manifestation of poverty.

Due to this they become weaker and often sick. This makes them increasingly less able to work, which then makes them even poorer and hungrier. This downward spiral often continues until death for them and their families.

The simple yet vital solution to break this spiral is by feeding the hungry by means of food package distribution. Not only this we will help them tackle the root causes of hunger and overcome its causes.

Help us feed the hungry by sponsoring a food package – £75
